In 1994, Brad Middleton created the very first vampire pop-culture website on the Internet, “Vampyres Only” (http://vampyres.com), which to this day is still the largest, longest-running and most extensive source of related information available online.
Over the years the website has been profiled across all media, and Brad’s expertise on the subject has led to consultations with authors such as Katherine Ramsland, who tapped him as a source for her ground-breaking book Piercing the Darkness: Undercover with Vampires in America Today (HarperCollins, 1998).
Having been a long-time reader of vampire/urban fantasy fiction, Brad often receives novels from publishers for critique, and several of his reviews are posted on Amazon.com.
In 2009, he contributed to the 3rd edition of The Vampire Book: The Encyclopedia of the Undead (Visible Ink Press, 2011), and covered the subject of vampires and television in much greater detail than had ever been seen before. But along the way, he unearthed a treasure trove of information that could not be included in his submission, and soon realized that there was no book that explored the topic to the extent that it truly deserved. Until now.
After over two years of research, writing, and watching a whole lot of television, Brad’s vision is finally taking shape.
In October 2011, the author delved into social media and the internet in order to start drumming up pre-promotion for the book. He’s created the website un-dead.tv, a forum-driven site devoted to discussing vampires on television. He also regularly tweets about the genre via the Twitter account @undeadtv, and has also set up related information on Facebook.
